Story Line

Our hero, John Watson is a working manager, dealing directly with customers. His targets increase year by year but the time he has to meet them is the same as it always was. He knows there is a problem looming and recognises something has to change.

Through a chance meeting on a train, a retired professor introduces him to eight other professors. All have a secondary interest in time management.

To his surprise, every time John meets a professor he learns something significant about time management. Note that John is no pushover. He already knows something of time management. He challenges what he learns and gains a greater understanding of how he can make a big practical difference to how he works. He also learns of a mysterious tenth professor, not on his visit list, who can tell him something special.
